This trip is from October 2019. We took Max to Miniatur Wunderland in Hamburg, Germany. Since we don’t own a car it took a bit more planning than usual. We had to book trains to get there. The first train didn’t arrive which through the trip off a bit. Though it was only a little over 2 hours away by car it took several hours to get there.
Once we arrived the lady at the counter informed us that the place was full and we wouldn’t be allowed in. She told us to reschedule. Did something get lost in translation when ordering the tickets? They told us we would have a spot.
We must have looked awfully pouty because the worker had mercy and told us to go ahead and go in. THE PLACE WAS PACKED! We are a family of introverts so after about 2 to 3 hours we were ready to go home.
Our first train out of Hamburg arrived late to our 2nd stop, so we missed that train. We were concerned that we were not going to make it back to the town we live in before the last bus left the station.
We barely made it with about 10 minutes to spare! Though it was an exhausting trip it was worth it if it meant our children made a memory and had fun.
This outing hardly ever happens. We are thankful for supporters, YNAB (budgeting software), and that lady at the counter who didn’t make our trip a waste of time.
